Managing Student Recipients for Feed Posts in Playground

Keeping the correct audience in focus when posting to the Feed in Playground is essential for effective communication. This guide outlines how to manage student recipients for active and inactive classes to ensure that messages reach only the intended recipients.

Selecting Specific Students for Feed Posts

To remove certain students from the recipient list when making a Feed post:

  1. Start Composing the Post: Begin by selecting the classroom or "All Students" option as the primary recipient group.

  2. Open the Students List: Click to view the list of students associated with the selected classroom.

  3. Deselect Specific Students: Manually uncheck the students you wish to exclude to exclude them from receiving the post. This will ensure the message is sent only to your intended recipients.

Note: Playground does not currently support automatic exclusion of specific students from Feed posts. Manual adjustment is required.

Ensuring Inactive Students No Longer Receive Feed Posts

Inactive (unenrolled) students may continue receiving class Feed messages if they remain associated with an active class. Take the following steps to prevent this:

  1. Reassign Inactive Students: Move these students to a non-active category or class status, such as "Dropped" or "Graduated."

  2. Confirm Reassignment: Verify that the students are no longer connected to active classes.

Once inactive students are reassigned appropriately, they will no longer receive messages intended for the active class.
