The Nightly Reset is an automated system process that runs every night to ensure a fresh start for the next day. This feature automatically updates student and staff statuses without requiring timestamps or signatures. While the reset happens automatically, providers should still complete necessary tasks before closing to ensure accurate records.

🚨 The Nightly Reset is designed for providers who close at night. If your facility operates overnight or 24 hours, this feature may disrupt your system by automatically checking out students and staff. To prevent this, please contact our support team or inform us during onboarding so we can disable the Nightly Reset for your account.

Students

The Nightly Reset ensures that all student statuses are updated automatically, helping providers start each day with a clean slate. This process does not affect attendance records but resets key details like transitions, posts, and program check-ins. Below is what happens each night for students:

  1. Checks out all students – Their status is updated, including being checked out of any programs, but no timestamp or signature is recorded.

  2. Returns students to their homeroom – If a student was transitioned to another classroom, they will be moved to their assigned classroom.

  3. Resets nap, potty, and fluid posts – These logs are cleared for the new day.

  4. Posts hidden content – Any posts that were hidden until checkout are made visible.

Staff

Just like students, staff statuses are also updated during the Nightly Reset. This ensures that all staff members start fresh each day without lingering check-ins from the previous night. Since no timestamps or signatures are recorded, it’s important to complete any necessary time tracking before the reset. Here’s what changes for staff each night:

  1. Checks out all staff members – Their status is updated, but no timestamp is recorded.

  2. Returns staff to their homeroom – If a staff member was transitioned into another classroom, they will be reassigned to their homeroom.

Systemwide Resets

Beyond student and staff updates, the Nightly Reset also clears system-wide data to prevent outdated information from carrying over into the next day. This ensures notifications, queues, and requests are properly reset for a smooth start each morning. The following systemwide resets occur automatically:

  1. Stops all recurring notifications – Any automated reminders or alerts are halted.

  2. Empties Carline & On My Way queues – These are reset to ensure a clean start.

  3. Turns off all pending contactless signature requests – Any outstanding requests are removed.
