It is essential for administrators to have an accurate record of where all students are physically located throughout a school day. A student or staff's current classroom is the classroom they are currently in. Students/staff can transition classrooms throughout the day.
💡 Transitions are used to track the physical location of students. For this reason, only students who are checked into school can transition to a new classroom.
View Current Classrooms on Web
Administrators can see an overview of all current classrooms by navigating to the Student tab under My School. Select the cog wheel to include Current Classroom in the student table.
Administrators can also use the Classroom tab to view a full list of students currently in a classroom.
From your admin dashboard, click My School and then click Classrooms.
Click the classroom you want to view.
Click the Current tab at the top of the classroom page to see all students currently in the classroom.
View Current Classrooms on Mobile
From the main screen of the Playground mobile app, click Roster at the top of the screen.
Select the Classroom filter to see the students assigned to a specific classroom.
Select the classroom you want to view. Then select Filtering by Homeroom to switch to Filtering by Classroom.
Click the blue Done button to view a list of all students currently in the selected classroom.
Transition Student Classrooms on Web
From your admin dashboard, click My School and then click Students.
Select the checkboxes next to the student(s) you want to transition.
From the top gray bar, click Transition.
The Transition Student window will open. Select the classroom to transition the students to.
Click the blue Transition button to complete the action.
The students will now appear in the Current tab of the new classroom.

From your Playground Mobile App, tap the Roster button at the top of your screen.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and then tap Transition Students.
Select the students that you would like to transition and then tap Finish.
Tap the classroom you would like to transition the students to.
[Optional] click the check box in the top right corner of the screen to also record a name-to-face.
A green banner will appear at the top of your screen confirming that the students have transitioned to a new classroom.

To see a specific student's transition records per day, click on the student from the Students tab in the Admin Dashboard.
Scroll down to the Transition Log section and click Click to show attendance records. The Transitions for that specific day will appear.
Click on the calendar icon in the top right corner to view different days.
