Emergency cards are a necessary file that must be produced for a student in case of emergency. Utilize the data you're capturing on Playground to make printable emergency cards that you can pull and print at a moment's notice.
Emergency card - included information
The PDF will include one page per student with the following information on their emergency card:
Name
DOB
First day of school
Medical information like allergies or medication
Guardians including primary and secondary guardians
Signature and date field at the bottom for parents to sign and confirm the information
Record emergency contacts for students
💡 Emergency Contact templates can be added to any existing report you would like to use for this purpose. If adding a template to an already existing file, please skip to Step 6.
Navigate to the Paperwork tab on the Admin dashboard
Click on Student paperwork under the Paperwork tab
Click on the blue Create button on the top-left of your view
Select Form
Title your form
Select the recipients
Read our article on Working with Forms in Paperwork for more information on how to share your file to your students and forms in general
Add Emergency contact templates
These can be added by clicking into the Response type dropdown menu and scrolling to the bottom of the list
Enable any other fields on the template by clicking on the checkbox
The gray checkboxes are information required by default - these are not editable or removable
Click on Save and exit in blue in the top-right of your screen to exit the file
Printing an Emergency Contacts PDF report
Navigate to the Reports tab on the Admin dashboard
Click on the Students tile
Click into the Report type dropdown menu
Click on Emergency info
Click on the Group dropdown menu
Select if you're pulling this report for:
All students
Specific Classrooms
Specific Programs
Single students
Click on Generate Report in blue
The PDFs will download directly - simply select where you'd like to download them to on your machine
The PDFs can be printed or stored on your machine for your records
