Record student attendance on the Playground mobile app if a family forgot to or if your center prefers to have the staff take attendance.
Single Student Check-in/out
💡 The button to the right of a student's name will correspond to whether the student is already checked in or out. For example, if a student is currently checked out, the button to the right of their name will say "Check-in".
Log in to the Playground mobile app and tap on Roster at the top
Tap on Check-in or Check-out next to the student's name
If you would like for the guardian to sign on your device, select the guardian who is checking the student in or out from the Guardian section and have them sign. Select your name from the Staff section to record yourself as the signer if the guardian is not signing on your device.
Tap on Sign for students and record your signature
Tap Submit to confirm
📱 The dots near the student's profile picture indicate the student's attendance status:
🟢 Checked-in
🔴 Checked-out
🟠 Absent

💡 Use filters at the top of the roster to see a specific group of students in the roster list rather than viewing the entire center.
Log in to the Playground mobile app and tap on Roster at the top
Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
Tap Toggle Quick Sign.
Tap the check marks to the right of the students' you'd like to check in or out.
Tap Sign for students at the bottom and sign
Tap Submit to complete the check-in/out process
Contactless Check-in and Check-out on Mobile
🚨 Contactless check-in is utilized if a guardian just drove away or forgot their device in the car. As a staff member, you can send the guardian a prompt to their phone for the guardian to sign on their device without needing a QR code or admin device to enter their pin.
This feature is currently unavailable for programs in Arizona at the request of the Department of Economic Security (DES) to maintain program integrity and accountability.
Log in to the Playground mobile app and tap on Roster at the top
Tap on Check-in or Check-out next to the student's name
Tap the toggle for Contactless sign for students so that it turns green
Select the guardian who you are sending the check-in/out to from the Guardian section
Tap on Sign for students
You will be directed to a screen letting you know a prompt was sent to the guardian's device
Record an Absence
Log in to the Playground mobile app and tap on Roster at the top
Tap on the student's name to access their profile
Tap the three dots to the right of "Check-in"
Tap Mark absence
Add the Start and End date along with any additional notes or reasons. This will automatically list the child(ren) as absent on their schedule
Tap post in the top right corner
Open Kiosk Mode
Kiosk mode allows parents to scan a QR code to sign their children in or out using your mobile device. Follow the steps below to enable it:
Log in to the Playground mobile app and tap Kiosk at the top of your screen.
The Scan QR tab will allow folks to scan the QR code to sign their kiddos in or out.
Tap the Enter PIN button to allow families to enter their attendance PIN and sign their children in or out.
Tap the Lock button to lock your app in Kiosk mode. If you choose to lock your device, you will need to collect the school PIN code from an admin.
📱 Kiosk mode can only be enabled on the mobile app. Teachers can't enable Kiosk mode on the web
