In order to take, upload, or save photos and videos from the Playground app, you'll need to give Playground permission to access your device's camera and photo album. You can do this from your device's settings.
For iOS
Navigate to your device's settings and scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, where your downloaded apps are listed alphabetically.
Find Playground and tap it to access the Playground Settings screen.
Across from Camera, toggle the switch on to allow Playground to access your camera.
Then, tap Photos to open the Photos Permission Settings screen.
Tap Photos to open the Photos Permission Settings screen, then choose Full Access so Playground can upload from and save photos to your photo album.

For Android
Navigate to your device's settings and scroll to the Apps tile on the Settings screen.
Tap the Playground tile to navigate to the Playground Settings page.
Tap on the Permissions tile to open the Playground App Permissions screen.
Tap on Camera to reach the Playground Camera Permission screen.
Tap Allow only while using the app to toggle the setting on.
Tap the back arrow to return to the App Permissions screen.
Tap Photos and videos to open the Photos and videos Permission screen.
βTap Always allow all so Playground can access your full photo library when uploading or saving photos.
βTap the back arrow to return to the App Permissions screen.
π‘ The App Permissions screen should now show Camera and Photos and videos under the Allowed section.

Troubleshooting: Black Screen or Unable to Scan
If you see a black screen or a "No QR code detected" message when attempting to scan, try the following steps:

Delete the Playground app from your mobile device.
βHard restart your device: For IOS:

βIf your device does not have a Home button:
βPress and quickly release the Volume Up button.
βPress and quickly release the Volume Down button.
βPress and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears, then release.

βIf your device has a Home button:
βPress and hold the Home button and the Top (or Side) button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, then release.

Hard restart your device: For Android:
βPress and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously until the device restarts.

Once your device has restarted, go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and re-download Playground.
βOpen the app and try scanning again.
