Enable Notifications on Mobile for Teachers

Turn on Playground notifications on your device so you never miss a message or update from your center.

Making sure your Playground notifications are enabled means you will never miss a chat message or comment from your team or the families you work with. This guide walks through how to turn on notifications on iOS and Android, and how to manage your preferences in the app.


On iOS Devices

  1. Navigate to your device's settings and scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, where your downloaded apps are listed alphabetically.

  2. Find Playground and tap it to access the Playground Settings screen.

  3. Find the Notifications tile. If you see Off below the tile name, as seen in the screenshot on the left, tap on the tile to reach the Notifications settings screen. Toggle Allow Notifications on, the button will turn green, and more notification settings options will appear.

  4. When your notifications are turned on, your Playground Settings screen will look like the screenshot on the right, the Notifications tile now reads Banners, Sounds, Badges.




On Android Devices

  1. Navigate to your device's settings and scroll to the Apps tile on the Settings screen; then scroll down to and tap the Playground tile.

  2. You'll be brought to the Playground Settings screen.

  3. Find the Notifications tile. If you see Blocked below the tile name, as seen in the screenshot on the left, tap on the tile to reach the App notifications screen. Toggle Show Notifications on, the tile and the toggle button will turn blue.

  4. When your notifications are turned on, your Playground Settings screen will look like the screenshot on the right, the Notifications tile now reads Allowed.



On the Playground App

  1. Open the Playground mobile app.

  2. From the home screen, tap the icon in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

  3. Tap Settings and select Notifications.

  4. Select which notifications you would like to receive and click Save when finished





Troubleshooting

Follow the steps below if you're still not receiving notifications after enabling them on your device and in the Playground app.

  1. Delete the mobile and reinstall it. Once it is reinstalled, open it and sign back into your account. This should prompt you to enable push notifications. Click Enable when prompted.

  2. After your push notifications have been enabled, navigate to your settings by tapping the icon and selecting Settings. From there, tap into Notifications and scroll to the bottom of the page.

  3. Next to Test Notification, click Send.

    1. Please note that sending a test notification will not send a push notification with a banner. If notifications have been enabled successfully, you should feel your device vibrate.

🚨 You must be logged into your account to receive notifications from Playground. If you have multiple Playground accounts, you will only receive notifications for the account that you are currently logged into.
