Having parents and staff fill out daily wellness checks is an easy way to ensure the health and safety of children and staff alike. When wellness checks are enabled, a guardian must complete a health check for their student before they can be signed in on a given day. Similarly, teachers will be prompted to complete wellness checks before being able to clock in for the day.

How to Enable Wellness Checks

When wellness checks are enabled, a health questionnaire will pop up for families and staff to fill out before they check in.

  1. In the admin dashboard, click on the Settings tab

  2. Click on the General tab

  3. Scroll down the page to the Attendance section, where you will find the Wellness Check toggle

  4. Enable the Wellness Check toggle

💡 The questions in a Wellness Check cannot be edited from the default questions.

How to Complete Wellness Checks

Completing a Wellness Check From Home

  1. Open the Playground mobile app

  2. At the top of your screen, you should see a yellow banner which says Incomplete Wellness Check

    1. Tap on Tap to Complete It on this banner

  3. Answer the following questions

    1. Have you been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?

    2. In the last 24 hours, have you had a fever greater than 100.4º F?

    3. In the last 24 hours, have you had any of the following symptoms (not due to a chronic condition)?

    4. Enter your temperature (in ºF)

💡 Parents can fill out wellness checks in advance of dropping their children off.

Completing a Wellness Check at School

If you don't complete the wellness check at home prior to arriving at school, you will be prompted to submit one before check-in in your student.

Regardless of what check-in method you're using (QR code, PIN code, contactless signing, or using a teacher device), you will still be prompted to complete the wellness check before being able to sign for your child.

How to Edit Wellness Checks as an Admin

For Staff

  1. Navigate to your Playground mobile app

  2. Start on the Home screen and click on the menu icon in the top left corner

  3. Click on Staff Directory

  4. You'll be brought to the Faculty screen, where your staff roster is listed.

    1. To the right of each name on the roster, you'll see a heart icon

    2. If the icon is gray, the staff member's wellness check is incomplete. If it is blue, the check is complete and passed—the person is not a risk. If it is red, the check is complete and failed

  5. Tap the 3-dot menu next to the staff member's name

  6. An options menu will appear; tap Wellness Check to begin the survey

For Students

  1. In the admin dashboard, click on the My School tab

  2. Click on the Students tab

  3. Search or select the student from the roster to open their Student Profile

  4. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Overview tab of their profile to the Wellness Check Log section

  5. Click on Click to show wellness records to open up all existing wellness checks

  6. Click Edit near the wellness check you'd like to edit

    1. This will open up the Edit wellness data screen. You can edit any of the three wellness check questions or the temperature

  7. Click Save once completed

🚨 If a student fails a wellness check, they cannot be checked in for care. If questions were answered incorrectly, refer to the above steps to edit the wellness check.
