Stripe is the payment processor that we, Playground, use to process all guardian payments and payouts for collected payments directly to your account.
Stripe builds technology that’s used by millions of companies around the world such as Amazon, Google, and Zoom to handle hundreds of billions of dollars of payments.
🚨 To use the Billing feature on Playground, you will need to create a Stripe account!
How to sign up for Stripe
To sign up and create an account to unlock you billing, you will want to:
Navigate to Billing on the side navigation panel to your left
Click on Overview
Click on Get started in blue
Complete the Start accepting payments form
Click Next to continue to the second part of that form
You'll see a confirmation that your center settings were saved
Click on the Take me there button in blue to continue
A new tab will open where you will continue the process on Stripe's encrypted webpage
You'll then be prompted to enter a phone number to receive codes to for access to this account moving forward.
A code will be sent to the number on file for confirmation of your identity
You will then be navigated to a screen to start confirming your business details.
Once complete, you'll then be navigated to a page where you'll add more granular information about your business.
You'll now be prompted to complete Stripe's Verify your personal details page
You will be prompted to enter:
Your Legal name
Enter name exactly as it is recorded with government agencies (e.g. IRS).
Email address
Date of birth
Home address
Phone number
Social Security number
To verify your identity, we’ll need to know your full SSN/ITIN.
Stripe is required to collect this information to satisfy regulatory obligations.

On the following screen, you'll select an account for your payouts.
This is the account you will be paid out to for the funds you collect on the platform
You'll be able to select a bank from Stripe's list
You can also add your bank with the routing and account numbers directly
Next, you'll add public details for guardians
This information may be visible in payment statements, invoices, and receipts.
You'll be adding:
A statement descriptor
An optional shortened descriptor
A phone number to reach you for inquiries
An address for your business
On the final steps, you'll be reviewing the inputted information
Click Agree and submit to complete the process
