Emergency communication

In case of emergencies or safety risks that can come up, Playground has multiple ways of ensuring your families are notified of any issues that arise at your center. The main ways to achieve this are by:

  • Using the Feed to communicate

  • Using the Chat to communicate

Emergency communication using the Feed on web

On the Feed tab you can create a message that is for all families and send the message as an app notification, email, SMS message, or all of the aforementioned methods.

To start you will want to edit the title of the post to make it clear to the users what the message is intended to convey. You can do so by clicking on the pencil icon next to the bold "Announcement" title.

You will then want to direct your attention to the message field to craft your message to the users.

Once the message is completed, you will then select the recipients by clicking on the "Add recipients" dropdown in blue under the message field. Playground has the option to "Quick Add" all students and staff should you wish to message all users, both families and staff, with one message.

Finally, you will want to select the method of delivery for the message in the dropdown below the message field which reads as "Send as". The options you have here are:

  • App notification

  • Email

  • SMS message

  • All of the above by selecting them all

Click "Post" to confirm and send your message.

Emergency communication using the Feed on mobile

Open the mobile app and tap on the New Post tile to begin.

You will then be directed to select your post type; tap on the Announcement tile.

You will be able to add all students and staff with two taps via the "Quick Add" feature. Tap on next when you have selected the appropriate recipients.

Once you have tapped on "Next", you will be brought to the message field where you can craft your message to the users. Craft your message and then tap on "Send as:" to select if you'd like the announcement post to be sent as a post as well as an email or SMS.

SMS messages do have a cost associated with them should you select SMS as well.

Once you have confirmed the above, tap on "Post" in the top-right to send your announcement.
