Sign in to the Playground App for Guardians

How to sign into Playground as a guardian once your account has been set up

Already have a Playground account? This article walks you through how to sign in on the web or mobile app, and what to do if you run into any trouble along the way.


Before You Sign In

Signing in is not the same as creating an account. Downloading the app or visiting the sign-in page does not create an account. To use Playground, your student's school or provider must first invite you by email. That invitation includes a sign-up link where you set your password and finish creating your account.

If you haven't received an invitation yet, reach out to your child's school or provider and ask them to send you a sign-up link.


Download the Playground App

You can access Playground on the web or on your mobile device.

To sign in on the web, visit https://app.tryplayground.com.

To use the mobile app, download Playground on your device first:


Sign in to Your Account

Once the app is downloaded, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Playground app on your device.

  2. Enter your email address and password.

    1. If your email isn't formatted correctly, you'll see a red outline around the field.

  3. Tap Log in.


Troubleshoot Sign-In Issues

If you see an error saying your email can't be found or your password is invalid, check the following:

  • Make sure you're using the same email address your school used to invite you to Playground

  • Check for typos and confirm your email is formatted correctly

  • Tap the eye icon next to the password field to confirm what you typed

If you're not receiving a password reset email or still can't sign in after trying the steps above, ask your child's school or provider to resend your Playground sign-up link. Resending the link won't delete any of your data, it just helps you regain access to your account.

I never received an invitation email, what do I do?

  1. Check your spam or junk folder for an email from Playground.

  2. Make sure your school has the correct email address on file for you.

  3. If you still don't see it, contact your child's school or provider and ask them to resend your sign-up link.

I forgot my password, how do I reset it?

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password?

  2. Enter your email address and tap the button to send a reset link.

  3. Check your inbox for a reset email and follow the link to set a new password.

  4. If you don't see the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

  5. If the email still doesn't arrive, contact your school or provider and ask them to resend your sign-up link.

My email or password isn't working, what should I check?

  1. Make sure you're using the same email address your provider used to invite you.

  2. Tap the eye icon next to the password field to confirm what you typed.

  3. Check for typos or extra spaces in either field.

  4. Try resetting your password using the Forgot your password? link on the sign-in screen.

The app keeps logging me out, what should I do?

  1. Make sure your Playground app is up to date. Open your device's app store and install any available updates.

  2. Check that your device's operating system is also up to date.

  3. If the issue continues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Playground app.

  4. If you're still having trouble, let your school's administrator know so they can reach out to Playground support.

Can I sign into Playground on a computer instead of my phone?

  1. Yes! Visit https://app.tryplayground.com in any web browser.

  2. Enter your email and password, then click Log in.

  3. If your school uses SSO, click Other login options to proceed.
